Liver Support Tincture

Description

Tinctures have been used for centuries as a method to preserve and administer the beneficial properties of various herbs and botanicals. Tinctures have a longer shelf life than other herbal preparations. The alcohol or glycerin are able to extract the active compounds from the plant material creating a concentrated liquid solution.

Sometimes our liver needs a little love and support. This blend can provide an enzymatic boost in support of our detoxification pathways.

Dong Quai: Is used to strengthen the heart, lung, and liver meridians,
while harmonizing the blood (Braun & Cohen, 2010) and lubricating the
bowel (Fang et al., 2012).
Dandelion: In Chinese medicine, it is used to reduce fire in the liver, and
for detoxification, hepatitis, acute infections, flu, skin ulcers (Tillotson,
2001)
Reishi Mushroom: Is used primarily as an immunomodulant, adaptogen,
anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, hypocholesterolemic, liver protective,
nervine, and antiviral herb (Winston & Maimes, 2007)
Chamomile: To stimulate menstruation and ease flatulence, jaundice, and
liver issues.
Turmeric root: Along with its ability to stimulate bile production in the
liver, turmeric is also hepatoprotective (liver protectant).
Peppermint: Is a well-known digestive, antispasmodic, and carminative
and is helpful for digestive disorders associated with pain and spasm, from
gas and colic and cramps to diarrhea, due to its stimulating action on the
digestive organs and its ability to relax tension. The bitters in peppermint
help tone and cleanse the liver (McIntyre, 1996).

Ingredients: Neutral Grain Vodka, Purified Water, Dong Quai, Dandelion, Reishi Mushroom, Chamomile, Turmeric root, and Peppermint.

Safety: Do not take if pregnant. Individuals with gallstones, or gastric, or duodenal ulcers should only use this blend under the supervision of a qualified practitioner. Those with Asteraceae (daisy) family allergies may experience sensitivity to Chamomile.
